Vehicle Rental Conditions                                 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010

Rental Duration

• Rental days are charged per calendar day. When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick up is counted as day one of the rental. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental. Vehicles are required to be collected and returned within business hours unless prior agreement is arranged with G & J Campers Ltd.
• When a rental moves from one season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.
• Minimum rental period is 5 days.
• Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak periods.
• Late pick up or early return of vehicle does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.
• If the customer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorization from G & J Campers Ltd. The rental extension will be subject to vehicle availability. The rate charged may not reflect the original rate booked. Failure to obtain authorization will result in a daily fee of NZ$150.00 in addition to the vehicle daily rate.

Making a Booking & Payment

To confirm a reservation a 20% non refundable deposit is required.
The balance of hire & bond is payable on collection of the hired vehicle.
Personal or company cheques can be accepted as long as this is received 7 days prior to the hire commencement.

Cancellation Fees

The cancellation fees as follows and do not include the non refundable deposit

* If cancelled up to 22 days prior to pick up                 Full refund
* If cancelled from 21 to 7 days prior to pick up          80% refund
* If cancelled 6 to 1 day prior to pick up                       50% refund
* If cancelled on day of pick up or No Show                No refund

If vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever no refund is available for the unused portion of the hire.
Vehicle Bond

The vehicle bond of NZ$750.00 is payable at the commencement of the hire and is refunded on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, with no damage incurred to the G & J Campers Ltd vehicle or third party property and all other Terms & Conditions are met.

License

A current and full motor vehicle driver’s license is required and must be produced upon vehicle collection.
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. For driver’s 75 years of age or over, a medical certificate stating that the driver is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle collection.

Diesel Recovery Tax

Diesel Recovery Tax will be calculated according to kms traveled during the hire and collected on the return of the vehicle.
G & J Campers Ltd currently charges a Diesel Recovery Tax of $4.00 per 100km traveled.
G & J Campers Ltd reserves the right to amend the Diesel Recovery Tax upon government intervention.

Includes plates,bowls,cups,glasses,Knives,Spoons,Forks,Bottle/Can Opener,Saucepans,Frying Pan, Cooking Utensils, Chopping Board,Kettle,Teapot,Toaster,Teatowels,Pegs, Dustpan/Brush, Fire Extinguisher, Bucket, Hose, Matches, Coat Hangers, Toilet Chemical, Roll Toilet Paper.

Additional Equipment

To be requested at the time of reservation or upon vehicle collection and paid by the hirer on the day of vehicle collection.

Insurance

G & J Campers Ltd fleet of vehicles is insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third party. The hirer is responsible for the first $1500.00 (“the standard excess”) of the cost of damage to Third Party or the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing & recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the “exclusions”. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs.
If the hirer is 20 years of age or less there is an additional under age excess of $1000.00.
If the hirer is aged 21 to 24 years there is an additional excess of $500.00.
These excesses are cumulative of the standard excess stated above.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported and not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded should G & J Campers Ltd be successful in recovering the cost of damages from the Third Party. Please note that the Third Party claims can take months to resolve. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Exclusions
All insurance cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions” are breached.

• Any water related damage which includes, but not limited to:

A/ any vehicle submersion
B/ creek or river crossing
C/ driving through low plain flooded areas
D/ beach driving

• Personal belongings. G & J Campers Ltd recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have insurance to cover for loss/damage of personal belongings.
• Any damage caused by willful misconduct( e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle)
• Damage caused to the vehicle by snow chains
• Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio- Diesel (fuel being diesel), or water or other contamination of fuel.
• The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to, a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged or has been abandoned.
• The cost of replacement keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
• The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed G & J Campers Ltd does not accept liability.
• Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that has a license that has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a license that is classified as a learners or probationary license.

Cleaning Fee

G & J Campers Ltd reserves the right to retain a NZ$200.00 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking related cleaning as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. The toilet & waste tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle.
There are to be no animals in the vehicle at any time excluding guide dogs.

Infringements

All infringements or damage to either the vehicle or Third Party property to be reported by the hirer to G & J Campers Ltd or their representative on return of the vehicle.
G & J Campers Ltd reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including Third Party property
damage not reported on return of the vehicle.

Repairs

Repairs up to NZ$100.00 may be affected without authorization and will be reimbursed to the hirer upon presentation of an itemized receipt.
For amounts over NZ$100.00 G & J Campers Ltd requires the hirer to obtain phone authorization prior to the repairs being carried out. Repairs will be approved and reimbursed provided the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Full receipts stating the item/repair must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid.

Change of Vehicle

Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, G & J Campers Ltd reserves the right to substitute an alternative vehicle type without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.

Goods & Services Tax

All rates quoted in this document are gross, inclusive of Goods & Services Tax (GST) and are in New Zealand dollars
Goods & Services Tax (GST) is a government imposed tax on Goods & Services.
G & J Campers Ltd reserves the right to amend GST upon government intervention.

Road Restrictions

No G & J Campers Ltd vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt Cook), Bluff Road that runs between Kuatunu and Mataurangi and north of Colville Township (Coromandel).
